Second cohort of LinkMedics doctors start their NHS journey at University Hospitals Coventry

In an exciting development for the NHS, a second cohort of LinkMedics doctors has recently started their NHS journey at the University Hospitals Coventry as FY1 doctors. This cohort of doctors, who completed their medical training outside of the UK, brings a wealth of experience and diversity to the NHS.

The LinkMedics NHS Induction Programme was developed through the NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur Programme in response to the growing demand for doctors in the UK. The programme enables doctors who have completed their medical training outside of the UK to work in the NHS while they undergo additional training and support to meet the standards required for registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).

The first cohort of LinkMedics doctors started their NHS journey in 2022, and their success paved the way for the second cohort. Many of these doctors have already made significant contributions to the NHS, particularly during the pandemic, where they have been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.
The second cohort of LinkMedics doctors is equally committed to making a difference to the NHS and the communities they serve. They bring a wide range of skills, experience and perspectives, which will help to improve patient care and outcomes.

University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire is an excellent place for these doctors to start their NHS journey. It is a leading teaching hospital with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care and medical education. The doctors will receive excellent support and training, which will help them to develop their skills and build their confidence as they take on new responsibilities.

Our NHS Induction Programme has been received well by the Trust as an excellent initiative which benefits both the NHS and the doctors themselves. The doctors gain valuable experience and training, which will help them to progress in their careers, while the NHS benefits from their skills and expertise. Our second cohort of LinkMedics doctors is an excellent addition to the NHS and Coventry. We do not doubt they will significantly contribute to patient care and outcomes.

We wish them all the best as they embark on their NHS journey and look forward to seeing their positive impact on the healthcare system!
